Leo Hillinger and Benjamin Karl in a 4-person team

A prominent team of 4 is at the start at the Glocknerman this year. Benjamin Karl, Leo Hillinger, Hannes Hessenberger and Sandro Jennewein are starting at the ultra-route


We are delighted that Benjamin Karl, Leo Hillinger, Hannes Hessenberger and Sandro Jennewein will start at the Glocknerman this year. Together as a team of 4, they will tackle the 1000km ultra distance. Here we pre-release the profile of Leo Hillinger and Benjamin Karl.

The preliminary list of participants will be published on Monday, 6th of March, Registration is still possible.

How did you get into cycling and what fascinates you?
I've been sitting at the wheel with a very young age and I've even decided as a 10-year old between biking and snowboarding. The bike always remained to me as the greatest hobby and passion.

What was your best cycling experience?
The finish at Ultra races.

How do you motivate yourself for a challenge like the Glocknerman?
The love of cycling

How do you prepare for the Glocknerman?
Cycling, cycling (-;

What makes for you a good team?
Cohesion and the necessary looseness also to overcome difficult situations.

My strengths in cycling are...
Definitely the flat and the mountain passages (-:

What is your motto?
Completely or not at all and always give 100%.

How did you get into cycling and what fascinates you?
Through my good friend Armin Assinger, who brought me to cycling!
It fascinates me to be in harmony with the nature and to get the head free.

What was your best cycling experience?
Taking part in the Cape Epic and to have persevered until the end!

How did you get to know your team partner?
By cycling!

How do you motivate yourself for a challenge like the Glocknerman?
I am a very consistent and determined person, if I put something in my head, I want to go through it and that is my greatest motivation!

I get supported in sports from?
My family!

How do you prepare for the Glocknerman?
Through the Cape Epic in March 2017 ;-))) and training with my team colleagues.

What makes for you a good team?
A harmonious driving in the team
