10. Is a permission necessary for orange warning lights? Officially YES, but most escorting vehicles use orange warning lights,. This means the use is at your own risk.
11. Is a permit necessary for auxilary roof lamps? YES if these are being used during the tour.
12. May they be used for training (not during the competition)? NO
13. Are there data saved GPS-Tracks of the route? YES
14. Is there equipment on loan for the competition? PARTLY if needed please apply to us in time
Question: Are the competitors insured?
The competitor has to make sure that he has liability insurance with an insurance company authorised in Austria. The world championship routes are not closed to public traffic, which means that the road traffic regulations must be strictly followed.
Question: Up to date records at the Glockner Man?
The fastest rider so far on the ULTRA-Route was Daniel Wyss from Switzerland in 36 hours 23 minutes in 2005. The fastest riders on the Classic-Route were the bicycle twins Gernot und Horst Turnowsky in 2002 in 30 hours and 17 minutes. And the fastest woman, who successfully finished this long-distance competition was Dagmar Likusova from the Czech Rep. in 2002. Her time was 60 hours and 02 minutes, followed by Sabine Menhart from Austria in 61 hours and 28 minutes.
Question: General procedure of the Glockner Man 2010?
The entry fee amounts to 400€ per individual rider and per team in which each further rider must pay 200€ End of registration: 31st May 2010 (post entries with additional fee until 28.5.2010). Briefing and distribution of start numbers on the 2nd of June 2010. Competition from the 3rd to the 5th of June 2010. Price giving including a gala-buffet will take place on the 5th of June 2010.
Question: What is included in the entry fees?
The entry fee includes one toll ticket for "Felbertauern" and "Großglockner" as well as three vouchers for the gala-buffet.
Question: Do the teams and the individuals start together
Yes, Teams and individuals stat together. Slip stream riding is permitted for both individual riders as well as for team riders. The race organisers will only intervene if a specific competitor is favored by a team
Question: Licht bei Nacht?
Licht bei Nacht ist Pflicht. Allerdings ist auch ein Helmlicht erlaubt. Rücklicht MUSS am Rad montiert sein.
BEACHTE: Laut StVO muss das Licht am Rad montiert sein.
